Abstract

The WebTool is a web-based resource that can be adopted by colleges and states to develop web-based career pathway roadmaps.  Roadmaps used by advisors, counselors, students, parents, and educators help to increase understanding and access to education, skills progression, and labor market information.  The WebTool is an on-demand resource. It can be used by individuals or in a classroom setting.

Benefits and Uses

The purpose of this resource is to help students increase their understanding and access to education, skills progression, and labor market information.  When roadmaps for students and advisors or counselors are created using the downloadable source code, students have the opportunity to see the complete path for a career. The roadmap provides students with a guide that include links to courses, prerequisites, certificates, degrees, wages, employment projects, and industry data.  The roadmap serves as a customized personal career progression map.
