Abstract: 

The ESL Healthcare Bridge Program is designed to move non-native English speaking students further and faster into healthcare training programs. This bridge program is designed for students who intend to become healthcare professionals. As part of this bridge program, this course is designed for students exploring the healthcare field and planning for future study to begin a healthcare career.  In this class students become acquainted with the U.S. healthcare system and its components (an abbreviated history); hear presentations from at least six professionals working in different health care fields; create a career portfolio; and practice researching job opportunities. Benefits and Uses: 

Students will practice listening, reading, and speaking with comprehension, and presenting oral and written information clearly in preparation for additional courses in entry-level healthcare programs. Specific course objectives are listed within the curriculum.
