Food Safety: Intermediate ESL
This resource supports the teaching of specific education and training content that can be implemented by classroom instructors in the context of a particular career cluster.
This 15+ hour food safety curriculum contains instructional and support materials that build English language, technology, and soft skills within career-specific units of instruction. Included are unit materials with instructor guidelines, unit benchmarks, instructions for a culminating activity and a PowerPoint presentation on Food Safety jobs. The course provides a pre-bridge to the ServSafe Food Safety Certification Course.
Students will: (1) Learn vocabulary related to hand washing procedures; (2) Write instructions for a simple procedure; (3) Give a verbal presentation; (4) Demonstrate teamwork; (5) Read a thermometer; and (6) Demonstrate literacy skills appropriate for Intermediate ESL.
